If you’re planning a trip with Virgin Australia, you might want to hold off. As mentioned yesterday, Velocity was launching a double status credits offer on Friday. We now have some further details on the terms and conditions of the offer. As a result, I have updated this post with the latest information.
Key Details
The following are the key details of the offer:
- Bookings must be made between February 1 and February 12, 2019.
- You can travel any time between February 1 and December 28, 2019.
- Restrictions: Flights must be marketed and operated by Virgin Australia. This means that codeshare flights are out. For example, if Delta or Singapore Airlines operate the flight, then it will not count.
- Registration is required and can be done at this link.
If you have already made a booking, you won’t be able to modify the booking to make it eligible. The promotion requires that a new booking be made during the stated booking period.
There do not appear to be any restrictions on booking class. As long as it is a booking that would normally earn status credits, it is eligible for double status credits. So, even the Gateway fares are eligible. The main fares that would not be eligible are award seats – which are excluded from earning.
