AccorHotels and Qantas improve loyalty partnership

Mark BBy Mark BSeptember 18, 2015No Comments3 Mins Read

AccorHotels and Qantas Frequent Flyer have announced that they has made a major improvement in their long-standing partnership.

While members of the Qantas program have long been able to convert points to Qantas Frequent Flyer, there have been some limitations in the process. Firstly, it could only be done manually, and required a minimum of 4,000 Le Club AccorHotels Points. In addition, it was not possible to set up an Auto-Tranfer process, as could be done with many other programs.

The improvements announced today cover both of these areas. In addition, Qantas is offering an introductory bonus for points transferred through the auto-convert process.

    Auto-convert

Auto conversion of points has been enabled, allowing any points earned in the Le Club AccorHotels program to be automatically converted across as Qantas Points. There is effectively no minimum of the number of points, as any earn of 1 or more points will be automatically transferred across to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.

Points are transferred at a rate of 1 Le Cliub AccorHotels point to 1 Qantas Point.

Qantas suggest setting up this conversion process through a link on the Qantas Points webpage for AccorHotels. From the link, you will need to log in to your Le Club AccorHotels account, at which time you will be presented with a form to enter your Qantas Frequent Flyer details.

Alternatively,  Automatic conversion of Le Club AccorHotels Points to Qantas Points can be applied by logging into your Le Club AccorHotels account and clicking on “My loyalty card”, “My rewards” and “Choose the partner” and select “Qantas Frequent Flyer” as your preferred automatic conversion option.

    Bonus

As a bonus, Qantas are offering a 50% bonus on any points transferred to Qantas using the auto-transfer mechanism. The bonus will apply to any points transferred through the new auto-transfer process by the end of November.

    Manual Conversion

While manual conversions have long been possible, the minimum point requirement has been reduced from 4,000 points down to 2,000 points. As a result, if you collect points in your Le Club AccorHotels account, you are able to transfer points to Qantas once you have reached 2,000 points. This is a decrease from the 4,000 points that used to be required.

In order to perform a manual conversion to Qantas Points you need to start by logging into your Le Club AccorHotels account. From there, click on “My loyalty card”, “My rewards” and “Choose the partner” and select “Convert your points into airline miles.
