This might be one to watch if you are a member of Le Club AccorHotels. Banyan Tree Holdings has announced that it has entered into long term partnership with AccorHotels. Under the partnership, both parties intend to collaborate to develop and manage Banyan Tree branded hotels around the world.
Under the agreement, Banyan Tree will have access to AccorHotels’ global reservations and sales network, as well as its loyalty programme Le Club AccorHotels.
Who are Banyan Tree?
As a chain, Banyan Tree has 43 hotels and resorts, 64 spas, 77 retail galleries, and three golf courses in 28 countries. In addition to the Banyan Tree, it also operates under the Angsana brand. There is also the more recent, and perhaps lesser known brands of Cassia and Dhawa.
Typically, they are reasonably upmarket, full service hotels. They have, however, not had any loyalty program.
I have stayed at Banyan Tree properties a couple of times, and have had quite enjoyable stays. The club lounges I have been in have offered quite good facilities and service.
Then newly announced partnership sees AccorHotels taking a 5% stake in the company. While the press release made mention of a tie up with Le Club AccoirHotels, there has been no additional details of what this may entail.
