Velocity Frequent Flyer usually offers bonus points on transfers from partners in May and November. This May is no different, and right on cue, Velocity has launched a bonus offer during May. Depending on your transfer partner, you could get up to 30% bonus Velocity points.
The offer is available when you transfer points from a range of eligible credit cards, hotel, or supermarket loyalty programs. For most partners, the offer is for a 15% bonus. However, there is a range of partners offering 20% and 30% bonus points. On the downside, while Flybuys is participating, the bonus rate could be as low as 5%.
Unfortunately, not all transfer partners are participating in this round. For example, if you have points in CommBank awards, there is no bonus on offer.
Velocity Transfer bonus details
30% Bonus
At the top of the tree, are a group of partners offering a bonus of 30% when transferring to Velocity in May. These partners include Citi Rewards and Suncorp Rewards. This is awarded as the standard 15% bonus, with an additional 15% bonus being added on.
20% Bonus
If you hold an ANZ rewards card, or a selected American Express card, you are in line for a 20% bonus. If you are an American Express Membership Rewards member, you will need to be in the Premium Ascent program to get the full 20% bonus. This program is available to holders of the Amex Centurion, Amex Platinum Charge, Amex Rewards Advantage and Amex Platinum Business cards.
15% Bonus
Most transfer partners are offering a 15% bonus during May. Partners offering the 15% bonus include

5% or 10% bonus
The final bonus partner is flybuys. Under the offer, you can earn a 10% bonus on any Flybuys points if you turn on Velocity Auto Transfer for the first time. If you already use Velocity Auto Transfer, or do manual transfers, you will only gain an additional 5% bonus.
Thoughts
Velocity runs these types of promotions pretty much every May and November, so it is not unusual to see a promotion now.
