Velocity and Didi have extended their launch offer of 1,000 Velocity Points for linking your Velocity account to your Didi account. You can receive 1,000 Velocity Points as long as you link your Didi account by 30 June 2024.

    Velocity and Didi

Velocity and ride share company Didi have teamed up to offer Velocity Points on every ride with the ride sharing company. As a Velocity member, you will be able to earn 1 Velocity Points per dollar on every Didi ride.

In addition, as a launch offer, members will be able to earn 1,000 Velocity Points simply by adding their Velocity number to their Didi Account. Virgin Australia Business Flyer members could also earn 1,000 Velocity Points for their business.

    Earning Velocity Points with Didi

Velocity members can receive 1 Velocity Point per $1 of eligible spend on rides. There are no restrictions on where these rides can take place. They can be either airport rides or non-airport rides.

The calculation of Velocity Points excludes GST and any other taxes, airport fees, road tolls or similar charges. If you are traveling on a promotional discount, it will be on the amount after the promotion discount has been applied,

    Virgin Australia Business Flyer members

If you have a Virgin Australia Business Flyer account, you can also earn 1,000 Velocity Points for your business. In this case, you can select Virgin Australia Business Flyer, and then add your membership number. In this case, it will be the ABN for your business.

    Final Words

It’s good to see Velocity team up with Didi. In the past, they were partners with Ola, although this partnership came to an end last year.

Even further, Ola has left the Australian market altogether, with two main players remaining – Uber and Didi. With this new tie-up you can earn Qantas Points with Uber, or Velocity Points with Didi.

The partnership between Didi and Velocity offers a couple of advantages over the partnership between Ube and Qantas. Firstly, you can earn Velocity points on all rides, not just those taken to or from an eligible airport. Secondly, for many trips you will earn twice as many points. In the case of Uber and Qantas, you earn 1 Qantas Point for each $2 of spend, unless you use Uber Reserve. When taking a ride with Didi, you will earn 1 Velocity Point per dollar.
