IHG Rewards has launched its latest promotion with an offer of Unlimited Double Points. Running for most of the rest of the year, all IHG Rewards members are eligible to participate.
While the promotion does not start until 1 October, members are able to register now. Once registered, all eligble stays between 1 October and 15 December will earn double points.

The double points is calculated on the base rate of all eligible stays. In the case of this promotion, an eligible stay excludes nights where the room rate is less that $30 per night. Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately), such rates are unlikely in Australia.
Thoughts
While it is a fairly simple promotion, it is not an overly generous one. For example, earlier this year there were promotions offering up to quadruple points. On paper that certainly sounded better, however, the in that case, the first two stays were double points.
As a result, the new promotion would be less rewarding for anyone making more than two stays. Given the current situation with travel, that may not affect as many people compared to more normal times.
