    Marriott Rewards Megabonus

    MarkBy MarkAugust 30, 2016No Comments2 Mins Read

Marriott Rewards has announced the details of their forthcoming MegaBonus promotion. The promotion will be valid for stays between September 15, 2016 and January 15,2017. In order to take part in the Megabonus, members will need to register by 15 December 2016.

    The Megabonus Offer Choice

During the registration process, members will be required to choose between one of two offers::

    1. Earn 5,000 bonus points after 2 paid stays where maximum bonus is 5,000 points
    2. Earn 10,000 bonus points after every 10 paid nights up to 50,000 bonus points

These are quite different offers. The first option see the bonus points capped at 5,000 points. This means that there is only one bonus paid during the promotion.

On the other hand, if choose offer 2, you can earn a maximum of 50,000 bonus points when you complete 50 nights under the promotion period. This is pain in chinks of 10,000 points after each 10 paid nights is achieved.

This means you will need to forecast your stays in eligible Marriott Hotels. If you think that ypu will only have a limited number of nights then option 1 may be the better option. If you think you can get ten nights under your belt, then option 2 will offer then better return.

    Thoughts

This may not be the most lucrative promotion around. It is not be worth changing travel plans to take advantge of. Having said that, leaving points on the table is also not a good idea. If you have stays coming up, then it would certainly be worth taking advantage of the points on offer.

Mark, the founder of Fly Stay Points, caught the travel bug early in life. During his travels, he eventually came to stumble upon loyalty programs, He first discovered the world of airline frequent flyer programs, and later hotel loyalty programs. He is always plotting his next adventure - and this includes working out how to leverage the loyalty programs. It is a constantly evolving world. Promotional opportunities come and go. Airlines come and go. New hotels open, old hotels change brands, and on it goes. FlyStayPoints was started as a way to try to keep on top of all this. Keep track of promotions. Understand the changes in the marketplace.
