Qatar Airways Privilege Club has announced a one-year extension of Privilege Club tiers. This is good news for silver, gold, and platinum member that had been set to downgrade at the end of the year.
Following this extension, they will now keep their status tier through to 31 December 2022. As a result, members will be able to use their benefits for another full year. This applies to all members, including those that took part in a status match in 2020.
In more good news, any expiring lounge passes will have their validity extended. These will also be extended through to 31 December 2022.
But it’s not all good news. Qmiles, Qpoints, and Qcredits in your Privilege Club account will maintain their original validity date.
According to Qatar, members will see the extension reflected in their accounts the day after the current expiry date.
Thoughts
Qatar certainly left things quite late with this announcement. As such, it probably falls into the better late than never bucket.
