Red Planet to establish research panel

Mark BBy Mark BMay 26, 2015No Comments2 Mins Read

Selected Qantas Frequent Flyers are being invited to join a 100,000 strong research panel, being put together by Red Planet, the data marketing business of Qantas Loyalty. The research panel, to be drawn from the ranks of Qantas Frequent Flyer members, is being chosen to represent a cross section of the Australian population.

The first invitations to Qantas Frequent Flyers, inviting them to become part of the research panel, were distributed today (May 26).

    Benefits For Clients

Executive Manager, Red Planet, Vaughan Chandler, said the new Red Planet Panel would fundamentally change the face of market research in Australia.

“We have achieved remarkable results for clients in the media and analytics side of our business and the creation of the research panel is the next exciting chapter in Red Planet’s offering.

“Clients will be able to engage Red Planet to conduct market research on their behalf and feel extremely confident that the insights will be real and therefore highly valuable to inform their business decisions.

For clients of the Red Planet business, Chandler says that due to the panel’s size, they will be able to “generate insights covering the breadth of the Australian demographic”.

“Another key differentiator is our ability to coordinate research with our broader knowledge of Australian consumer behaviour, enabling both increased trust in the accuracy of the research as well as delivering a new level of actionable insights for our clients,” he said.

    Benefits For Qantas Frequent Flyers

The Qantas Frequent Flyer program consists of over 10 million members, and it from this group that the panel will be selected.

The panel is designed to consist of a diverse range of Qantas Frequent Flyer members. These members will opt-in to receive and complete market research surveys. For participating in surveys, they will earn up to 300 Qantas Points for each survey completed (from 1 August 2015).

On top of the points for each survey, as part of the launch, Red Planet is offering various prizes.

    • Ten members will each win 500,000 points for completing two surveys by 31 July 2015.
    • Twelve members will each win 50,000 points for completing at least one survey every quarter, to be drawn from 1 August 2015.
    • One member will win 1,000,000 points for completing six surveys by 25 May 2016.

Red Planet’s clients include Avis Car Rental, Budget Car Rental, iSelect, Hilton, NAB, Bankwest, Athlete’s Foot, American Express and Super Retail Group.
