Redeem Krisflyer miles for Scoot/Tiger Airways Travel Vouchers

Mark BBy Mark BApril 8, 2015No Comments2 Mins Read

If your are a member of the Singapore Airlines Krisflyer program, you can now redeem points for travel vouchers for flights on Scoot and TigerAir flights. The ability to redeem is the first part of a tie up between the carriers, with the ablity to earn Krisflyer miles coming on Scoot and Tigerair flights later in the year.

Travel Vouchers for both airlines can be purchased using Krisflyer miles, based on the following redemption levels:

    • SGD 30 voucher — 3,200 KrisFlyer miles
    • SGD 50 voucher — 5,300 KrisFlyer miles
    • SGD 100 voucher — 10,500 KrisFlyer miles

As can be seen, the best value redemption is at the SGD 100 level. It is possible to combine mutliple vouchers if more that $100 is needed for a particular flight.

Vouchers are usable for a range of charges including fares, ancillary services, convenience fees and booking charge fees. On the other hand there are a set of charges that the vouchers can’t be used for. These include charges such as airport and government fees/taxes, carrier surcharges, call centre fees, and so on. Payments for these charges is going to need more traditional forms of payment such as credit card.

Note that for Tigerair flights, the voucher is only usable for flights on the Tigerair Singapore flights (TR coded). Locally, this means that flights on the Virgin Australia owned Tigerair Australia are not available using the vouchers. Other airlines in the family, such as Tigerair Taiwan. Tigerair Philippines are also excluded from the offer.
