I’ve found myself passing through the Qantas International Lounge in Perth a handful of times over the past few years. Ok, maybe more than a handful. That said, it’s been a bit remiss of me not to write a review of the lounge.
On my most recent visit, I was heading off to Singapore on QF71. These days, that flight leaves at 10:30 in the morning, which means the lounge is geared toward the breakfast crowd. For the most part, that means the buffet consists of scrambled eggs and sausages. And of course, the coffee is flowing.
Lounge Location
The Qantas International Business Lounge in Perth sits in Terminal 3 (T3), Level 1 departures. Easy enough to say, but getting there takes a bit of effort.
You’ll still need to check in over at Terminal 4 first. Luckily, Terminals 3 and 4 are connected both landside and airside, so moving between them isn’t too complicated, but it’s a bit of a trek.
My route was to clear domestic security in Terminal 3, then head back across to the international departures area. That path takes you through immigration, where you’ll also spot the TRS counter if you’re planning to claim a GST refund.
From there, you’ll go through another round of international security before finally reaching the lounge.

Lounge Access
This is a Business Lounge, and as such, the rules that apply to accessing an International Business Lounge applies. If you’re booked on the right flights, there are several ways in.
First, you need to be on an international service departing from T3, as outlined earlier. Then, you must meet one of Qantas’ standard lounge entry criteria:
- Business Class on one of those Qantas flights.
- Qantas frequent flyer status: Gold, Platinum, Platinum One, or Chairman’s Lounge, with one guest.
- Airline partner status: Emirates Skywards Gold or Platinum, with one guest.
- Oneworld status: Sapphire or Emerald, with one guest.
- Qantas Club membership: including Points Club Plus, Annual Guest Card holders (when accompanied), with one guest.
Unfortunately, complimentary single‑use lounge passes generally don’t get you through the door here.
Around the Lounge
Lounge Layout
The main lounge is essentially one big open room. As with many other lounges, the seating is arranged naturally breaks it up into smaller, more intimate areas. Around the lounge you will find cosy sofas for one or many, bar stools, dining tables and plenty more scattered throughout.
Dining Area
If you wander over to the far left side of the lounge, right near the buffet, you’ll spot a dining area with tables.
Fun fact: this space used to be a wellbeing studio where they offered guided yoga sessions. I am not sure how popular the yoga was – I don’t recall seeing anyone doing it on previous visits. As a result, I guess Qantas felt it was better utilised for a dining area.

Open-Air Terrace
Then, of course, there is the open-air terrace. Well, “open-air” with a twist—you don’t get a full view of the sky, but you do catch glimpses through a clever louvre-style roof. It seems the panels are able to slide shut when it rains (yes, Perth does get the occasional downpour), so you can enjoy the fresh air without worrying about getting soaked.

Food
For the most part, food is available from the buffet area. As this was a breakfast service, the hot options included chicken sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs and baked beans. For the cold options there were a range of yoghurt, muesli, fruit and pastries.
In addition to the main buffet, Qantas offer a BBQ area next to the outdoor patio. At the time I was there, they were cooking up a new batch of chicken sausage for the breakfast buffet. There are times when you have the opportunity to receive a freshly cooked item from the BBQ.

Beverage
A fully staffed bar sits down the one end of the lounge. It is positioned in such a way that it can serve both the indoor area and the outdoor terrace. The bar serves a range of drinks including a range of alcoholic beverages, barista made coffee, and a quench station.
Other Amenities
Showers
The lounge has no less that 15 showers available. I guess this rather generous number comes from having started out life as a transit lounge for the London flights. After arriving in Australia, many probably wanted a shower.

Refresh Zone
If you just want to freshen up before boarding, head to the Refresh zone. It’s a simple setup: a central communal space with individual cubicles, flanked by the separate men’s and ladies’ facilities.
Qantas has partnered with LaGaia Unedited here. That’s the same brand used in the First Lounges. They offer a four‑step pre‑flight ritual designed to prep your skin for the long journey ahead. It’s a nice touch that makes the space feel more than just functional. While it’s self-service, it’s a small moment of luxury before you fly.

Final Words
Given the relatively small number of daily flights that pass through this space, this lounge stands out as one of the most tranquil corners of the entire Qantas network.
