One thing to note with this promotion is that the conditions appear to make it applicable to members holding Silver, Gold or Platinum status. It does seem to exclude the base classic members, although they have their own separate promotion.
As is usual with these promotion nowadays, the points are awarded as Reward Points. That means that they do not count towards the requirements to gain or retain status.
