Virgin Australia has finally opened the doors on its new Adelaide Lounge. The lounge has been a long time coming, opening almost a year late. Of course, it has been an unusual year with Covid-19, and Virgin Australia’s time in administration.
The Adelaide lounge created as part of the expansion of Adelaide Airport. It also brings a new design to the Virgin Lounges. In fact, Virgin has said that future lounge developments will be more in line with the thinking of the Adelaide Lounge.
Adelaide Lounge Features
The lounge has the features you would expect of a lounge these days. There’s a coffee bar and a range of dining areas. Being the Adelaide Lounge, Virgin has also included a Cellar Door Hub to showcase South Australian Wines.
There are also a number of distinct areas around the lounge. These include a dedicated work area that has been dubbed the Library. In addition, other areas include the Gallery Lounge and the Sunroom. These provide different styles of seating and entertainment. For example, the Gallery Lounge includes a large flat-screen TV. On the other hand, the sunroom provides more cozy seating arrangements.
A new menu
The new lounge brings with it a new menu. And Virgin is trialling a new ordering system. Under the system, you can make your order and it will be brought to your table.
The menu includes a range of items, including sandwiches, salads, wraps, and healthy snacks, all prepared on-site.
The Virgin Australia lounges in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, and Perth are now open. Virgin Australia is expected to open its seventh and final domestic Lounge in Canberra next month.
