American Express recently added a powerful new feature: the ability to transfer Membership Rewards points directly to the Woolworths Everyday Rewards program. While this unlocks simple savings at Woolworths checkout, it also creates a far more strategic opportunity. That is a new pathway to Qantas Frequent Flyer via Everyday Rewards.

This is a good opportunity to maximise the value of your Amex points, especially if you plan to convert Everyday Rewards points into Qantas Points.
What the offer means
The normal transfer rate from Membership Rewards to Everyday Rewards is 500 Membership Rewards gives you 400 Everyday Rewards points. If you were to on-transfer this to Qantas you would get 200 points on average. Overall, that means that 500 Membership Reward Points will get you 200 Qantas Points. That works out at a 2.5 MR to 1 Qantas Points. In the scheme of things that’s not a terrible transfer rate.
With a 15% bonus, those 500 Membership Rewards points will land as 460 Everyday Rewards points. Based on the 2:1 transfer rate to Qantas, that would give you 230 Qantas Points. That works out, on average, to be a 2.17:1 ratio.
Final Words
The introduction of Everyday Rewards transfer partners has unlocked a valuable new route to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. It was a pathway that didn’t previously exist. By allowing American Express Membership Rewards points to move through Everyday Rewards, members now have more flexibility in how they convert and maximise their points.
While this new option enables transfers to Qantas, it doesn’t replace the ability to move points to other existing Amex partners. The best transfer choice ultimately depends on your personal travel goals, redemption preferences, and the value you want to extract from your points.
However, bonus transfer offers, like the current 15% boost, can significantly shift the value equation and make certain pathways far more rewarding.
