Looking to top up your Velocity Points? Sitting on a stash of American Express Membership Reward points looking for somewhere to go? If so, there’s a new offer out that may be on interest.
American Express and Velocity have launched a new promotion offering 25% bonus points when you transfer Membership Rewards Points to Velocity. The bonus offer is running from now through to 15 August 2022.
In order to be able to transfer Membership Rewards points to Velocity, you will need to be enrolled in one of the following programs:
- Membership Rewards Ascent,
- Gateway,
- Premium Ascent,
- Business Ascent,
- Corporate Ascent or
- David Jones Membership Rewards
In most cases, you will need to make a transfer of at least 2,000 Membership Rewards Points. The one exception is from Business Ascent, where you will get away with a minimum of 1,998 Membership Rewards Points.
In most cases, the usual transfer rate from Membership Rewards to Velocity is 2:1,those 2,000 Membership Rewards Points will convert into 1,000 Velocity Points. During this promotion, you will find that 1,250 Velocity Points will find their way into your account for each 2,000 Membership Reward points you transfer.
Business Ascent users have a transfer rate of 3:1, so those 1,998 will become 666 points, plus the bonus of 166 points.
Thoughts
This is a pretty good deal for Membership Rewards members. It is on of the higher bonus offerings that we have seen.
