    Choice Changes

Choice Privileges has announced a series of changes to its loyalty program coming into effect on 1 January, 2026. There’s a raft of changes coming through across the program. The changes will see a new top tier level, it will be easier to earn status, there will be new milestone rewards, and more.

    The Changes

    New Titanium Level Status

Choice Privileges will be introducing a new Titanium status level. This will sit above Diamond, the current top tier, and introduce new benefits. This will require 55 elite night credits or 110,000 Elite Qualifying Credits.

That said, Choice have only announced one additional benefit over the Diamond Level. Each year, you will get a coupon for 50% off a Reward Stay. This will be available for one room for up to seven nights.

    Faster Elite Status Earning

Choice Privileges are making changes to elite status earning, that will make it easier to climb the status ladder. There are two parts to this change. Firstly, they are reducing the number of nights required to earn status. At the same time, they are introducing a second way of earning status – Elite Qualifying Credits.

At the moment, the only way to earn status is by earning the required number of elite nights. The requirements are:

    • Gold – 10 nights
    • Platinum – 20 nights
    • Diamond – 40 nights

As from 1 January, the number of nights will decrease by 5. In addition, there will be the new option to earn Elite Qualifying Credits:

    • Gold – 5 nights or 10,000 Elite Qualifying Credits
    • Platinum – 15 nights or 30,000 Elite Qualifying Credits
    • Diamond – 35 nights or 70,000 Elite Qualifying Credits
    • Titanium (new) – 55 elite night credits or 110,000 Elite Qualifying Credits.

Elite Qualifying Credits are based on your in-hotel spend. Basically, you will earn 10 Elite Qualifying Credits for every $1 USD spend on your room. This is equivalent to the number of base points that you would earn on your stays.

    Milestone Rewards

Under Milestone Rewards, Choice will be offering bonus perks (such as bonus points) during each membership year. Choice will set specific Milestones to be achieved. These will either be a certain number of Qualifying Nights, or Qualifying Credits. Once you reach a milestone, you will become eligible for a reward.

    Points Pooling

This is one that is coming a bit later in 2026. Choice Privileges is planning to allow members to share their points with family and friends. That said, Choice isn’t giving away much on this at the moment. So, it’s a bit of a wait and see to see what this means.

Return Rewards (bonus points on second/third stays)

Choice will be offering 1,000 bonus points after your second and third stays each year. Not a lot, but worth taking.

    Final Words

It’s rather an unusual set of changes to the program. For me, at least, there does not seem to be anything negative in there. That said, while it looks to make the program a little more rewarding, it’s not going to change my stay habits much.
