Earning Qantas Points when buying from Qantas Wine

    MarkBy MarkMay 31, 2019No Comments3 Mins Read

Qantas Wine is a wine program run for the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. As a result, if you want to buy wines from Qantas Wine, you have to be a Qantas Frequent Flyer.

But that may not be the challenge here. What I want to demonstrate is that the Qantas Wine program can offer a way of boosting your Qantas Points balance.

Yes, it’s a marketing play – but it is one that offers frequent flyers the opportunity to earn thousands of points while buying wine. Not only can you earn thousands of bonus points, but they also tend to post fairly quickly as well.

While it offers a base rate of 1 Qantas Point per dollar, the real value is in bonus point offers. Under these offers, you can pick up many thousands of points if you are willing to buy a case of wine offering bonus points.

And here is where it gets interesting. Sometimes you get bonus points and wine for less than it would cost to purchase points through the Top Up points program.

Here’s an example. Qantas Wine has an offer of 15,000 Qantas Points when purchasing a case of 6 Voyager Estate Cabernet. At $58 a bottle, this came to $350 for the case of 6, with 15,000 Qantas Points thrown in.

Here’s the thing. If you go to buy 15,000 Qantas Points through the purchase scheme, those 15,000 Qantas Points will cost you over $500. It’s almost as though you are buying Qantas Points and getting some wine thrown in for free.

Of course, not all deals work out this way – but this just shows that there are some good point-earning opportunities available if you want to go down this path.

    About Qantas Wine

Qantas Wine is the wine program of Qantas Frequent Flyer. You do need to be a Qantas Frequent Flyer to buy wine from them. Within the program, you can buy wines through a free membership. They also offer a paid, premium membership that allows you to earn even more points.

To purchase from Qantas Wine, you need to log into the website, using your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.

If you are using the ‘free’ account, you can earn 1 bonus Qantas Point for each dollar spent. In addition, you will receive free delivery on orders above $300. You’ll also get offers for bonus point promotions.

There is also a ‘Premium’ membership that costs $99 per year. If you take out this option, your Qantas Points earn gets boosted to 3 Qantas Points per dollar. In addition, you will receive free delivery on all your orders.

    Earning bonus Qantas Points

One feature of the Qantas Wine program is the regular bonus points promotions. These range from 2,000 Qantas Points or so, up to 15,000 Qantas Points or more. Typically, these points are awarded when you buy a case (either 6 or 12 bottles) of a promotional offering.

Qantas does a good job of highlighting current promotions, and you can easily browse through the bonus points offers. To do so, head over to this page to see what is on offer.

In summary, if you are looking for a Qantas Points boost, then maybe you can find a good deal at Qantas Wine. There are some decent deals, and worth considering if you have a need to boost your Qantas Points balance.
