I must confess that I enjoy a good resort stay. So, for recent long weekend, I decided it was time for a visit to the Pullman Resort Bunker Bay. As is my want, I opted to book a three night stay, with one night using a Stay Plus night from my ALL Accor+ Explorer membership.
The resort offers a unique beach‑meets‑bush experience, combining beachfront access on Bunker Bay with the tranquillity of nature. There are around 150 standalone villas, each set among lush native gardens and overlooking a man‑made lake. These villas come in various configurations such as studio, and one- and two-bedroom villas.

Pullman — ALL Accor (Accor Live Limitless)
Category
The Pullman Bunker Bay is a resort property in the Mid to Upper scale.
Location
Nestled on 35 acres of landscaped native gardens, Pullman Bunker Bay Resort enjoys a prime position on the geographically sheltered northern coastline of the Margaret River region. The property opens directly onto Bunker Bay Beach, a peaceful stretch of white sand just a few steps from the resort’s villas and pathways.
Located along the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse route, the resort places travellers within minutes of iconic lookouts, whale‑watching points, and walking trails. Its northern‑cape position provides a secluded base while still offering easy access to nearby wineries, gourmet producers, and the region’s attractions.
Booking
As per usual, I made the booking on the All Accor website, using a Stay Plus certificate. In the case of the Pullman Resort Bunker Bay, this requires a booking of at least 3 nights.
Arrival
My long weekend started with a departure from work in the mid-afternoon. After a relaxed three‑hour drive from Perth I reached the Bunker Bay area shortly after 6 pm. The approach to Pullman Bunker Bay Resort immediately sets the tone: the property blends seamlessly into its coastal bushland surroundings, with rustic architecture and natural timber accents that echo the landscape of Cape Naturaliste.
From previous experience, on arriving at the property, it’s best to drive straight to the main building and reception before unloading anything. At Pullman Bunker Bay, villas are spread across the 35‑acre property, and you never really know where you’ll be. Once you are assigned a room, you can park closer to your villa and unload your luggage there.
If you end up in a villa away from the central facilities or carparks, you can take advantage of a golf buggy transport service. These buggies operate as a convenient shuttle service, helping guests reach their accommodation quickly and comfortably while enjoying the peaceful, nature‑rich surroundings.

Lobby and Check-In
The resort’s reception area features high ceilings and an elegant, open design. Comfortable seating lines the lobby on the left. This is an area where you can relax while taking in views of the surrounding landscape.
As part of the check-in, I was given a thorough overview of the resort’s facilities, along with details about the breakfast service and other important information for my stay.

Rooms at the Resort
Around the resort, there are a number of individual rooms. Looking at the map of the resort, each building hosts two or three separate villas. The villas come in a range of size including
- Studio Villa
- One Bedroom Villa
- Two Bedroom Villa
- Three Bedroom Villa
In addition, some of the villas were clustered around a man-made lake. These are identified as being ‘Lake View’ rooms.

The Room – Studio King Villa
In my case. I had booked a Studio King. The particular room I was assigned is in a building with one other villa. As such, it shares a wall with the neighboring villa.

As the photo indicates, there is a path on the side of the villa that leads to the door. The entrance door was roughly half way along the wall.

Layout and Space
Finding the door to my villa, I went inside and found a beautifully appointed room. Jarrah timber floors, a generous king‑size bed, a fully equipped kitchenette, and a bathroom with a deep soaking tub. It certainly gave an immediate sense of comfort.
The villas extended this luxury with separate living and dining spaces and cathedral ceilings. At the end floor‑to‑ceiling windows opened directly onto a small balcony area.
Kitchenette
The villa features a fully equipped kitchenette, ideal for travellers who enjoy preparing simple meals. Inside the cabinets, you’ll find a full range of cooking utensils, pots, pans, and essential kitchenware, so it’s all quite functional.
Appliances include an electric kettle, bread toaster, and a Nespresso coffee machine with complimentary pods. It’s perfect for a morning coffee and bite of toast before heading out to explore Bunker Bay or Cape Naturaliste. A fridge provides ample space for storing groceries, regional cheeses, wines, and other Margaret River specialties.
The villa also comes with packets of tea and complimentary bottle of filtered water. While the tap water is safe to drink, guests who prefer filtered water can easily refill their bottles at the resort’s restaurant.

Living Area
There’s no point having a kitchenette if there is nowhere to eat. Fortunately, there is a small dining table suitable for two.

There is also a setup consisting of a coffee table and couch. Having has a sleep in the couch, I can vouch for its comfort.
Bed & Comfort
At the other end of the studio villa, you’ll find the bedroom, designed as a comfortable and relaxing retreat. The king-sized bed takes centre stage, with bedside tables on either sides. The bedding is of excellent quality, featuring a plush mattress, soft linens, and an abundance of pillows to ensure a restful night’s sleep.

Bathroom
As can be seen in the above photo, the bathroom is located at the far end of the villa. In the bathroom you’ll find a large freestanding bathtub,

Dining
Located just beyond the lobby, The Other Side of the Moon Kitchen & Bar serves as the resort’s main restaurant and social hub. Open for both breakfast and dinner, it offers guests a relaxed setting to enjoy their meals throughout the day.
The name of the restaurant may sound a bit odd. However, it’s the name of a well-known local surf break.

Breakfast
Breakfast is served daily from 7:00 am to 10:30 am and is presented in a buffet format, featuring a selection of hot and cold dishes. The restaurant is bright and airy, with large windows that flood the space with natural light. During pleasant weather, guests can also choose to dine outdoors, enjoying the fresh air and peaceful surroundings while taking in views of the resort.
In addition to the buffet options, I was able to order an omelette and a barista made coffee.
Facilities
Pool
The pool sits one level below the restaurant, creating an easy transition from dining to downtime. With flexible opening hours that follow the rhythm of daylight, it’s a welcoming spot throughout the day. The water is heated to 26°C year‑round, ensuring a consistently comfortable swim whether you’re visiting in the height of summer or during the cooler months (as I was!).
Surrounding the pool is a generous deck furnished with ocean‑facing lounges. This helped to give the whole area a relaxed, coastal resort feel. One is able to order drinks and light meals directly to their lounge. This makes it easy to settle in for an afternoon by the water. Towels are provided, so you can simply arrive, unwind and enjoy the view.

Gym
The gym sits in the main building, right beside the pool area. It basically fits underneath the restaurant. It’s easy to find, and it gives you a view over the pool and surrounding grounds.
Although compact, the gym is fully equipped for a complete workout. You’ll find treadmills, cross trainers, exercise bikes, a multi‑function weights machine, leg press machine, exercise balls, step boards, medicine balls and a free‑weights bench. All up, it’s sufficient for a bit of strength and cardio training.
It can get busy, and I had to make a few visits to be able to get a picture with no-one in it 🙂

Parking
There are also three dedicated parking places for ALL Accor members. Fortunately, I was offered the use of the bays, as they were the closest parking sports to my villa.

Spa
While I didn’t partake this time around, the Vie Spa offers a bit of pampering. It is located in its own building opposite the hotel lobby entrance.

Tennis Court
Behind, or next to, the spa ate two tennis courts for guests usage. If you need them, you can borrow some racquets and tennis balls from reception.

Service
Staff are friendly, approachable, and used to handling leisure travellers. Housekeeping is efficient, and buggy transport is generally quick when requested. Service feels relaxed rather than formal. I guess this is fitting for the resort’s nature‑focused vibe.

ALL Accor (Accor Live Limitless) and Accor+ Explorer
The Pullman Bunker Bay is part of the ALL Accor (Accor Live Limitless) program. As such, members are able to earn and redeem points in the program. I’m an ALL Accor Platinum member (through paid stays), and received two welcome drinks and a welcome amenity through that membership. While they normally provide upgrades to Platinum members, as I was there on a long weekend, the hotel was completely full. No upgrade for me!
I am also a member Accor+ Explorer card. This builds on the ALL Accor membership by offering 2 nights for the price of 1 vouchers, discounted dining, and 30 bonus nights to help you on your way to Platinum. Taken together, these two memberships deliver some rewarding perks.
Bottom Line
A peaceful, beachfront resort with strong loyalty value and one of WA’s most photogenic coastal settings.
