Earn 500 Qantas Points with BP Rewards

    MarkBy MarkJuly 2, 2020No Comments3 Mins Read

Qantas Frequent Flyers can now collect Qantas Frequent Flyer points at BP service stations across Australia. As previously reported, this is part of the new BP Rewards program.

BP Rewards is a new loyalty program from BP. You will need to join this if you want whether you want to earn BP Rewards Points, or Qantas Frequent Flyer Points. While this post will focus on the Qantas Points side of the offer, you can elect to earn BP Rewards points instead.

To earn Qantas Points with BP Rewards, you will need to opt into the Qantas Points option. Once you have done that, you can earn

    • two points per litre of BP Ultimate Unleaded fuel,
    • one point per litre of all other fuel, and
    • one point per $1 spent in-store on eligible purchases.

If you are shopping in-store, you should note that there are exceptions. That is, there are products on which you will not earn any points. For example, you will not earn any points on cigarettes and mobile phone recharges. There are also other exceptions that you can read about in the T&Cs.

Launch Offer – Status Credits or Points [Expired]

There are basically two Launch Offers – one offering status credits, the other offering points. It basically depends on whether you sign up through Qantas or through BP.

    Launch Offer – Status Credits

As part of the launch of the new partnership, there are status credits on offer. In fact, up to 50 of them.

To be in line for the status credits, you will need to register for BP Rewards through the Qantas website before 30 June 2020. If you take this path you’ll receive 10 bonus status credits for linking your accounts.

After that, you could be in line for another 40 status credits. This is based on an offer of 10 Status Credits for every 1,000 Qantas Points earned at BP before 30 June.  There is a maximum of 40 Status Credits through this offer, giving a total of 50 Status Credits. Of course, this will require you to earn 4,000 points through BP Rewards.

Given the earn rate at BP, that will take a few thousand dollars to achieve. As such, for most consumers, there probably isn’t a real limit on the number of status credits you would earn. Very few would spend the required amount at BP to hit the limit.

    Launch Offer – Points

If, on the other hand, you join through BP Rewards, there is a bonus of 100 points up for grabs. This seems to be a one-off bonus, with no additional points for spending big over the next few months.

To sign up through BP Rewards, head over to the dedicated website.
