Qantas has extended its introductory Qantas Marketplace offer. Under the extension, you could earn up to 10,000 points per transaction made by 7 April 2023 (was 31 March 2023). As noted below, you can earn points as follows:
- Spend $150 in a transaction, and you could pocket 2,000 bonus Qantas Points.
- If you spend $300 in that transaction, you could get 5,000 bonus Qantas Points.
- Finally, on a $500 transaction, you could walk away with 10,000 bonus points.
Qantas has introduced the new Qantas Marketplace, an online store where you can use and earn Qantas Points. By and large, it replaces the Qantas Rewards Store, however, it adds some new features.
The biggest change it brings is the ability to earn Qantas Points when spending dollars at the online store. While the previous rewards store offered some ability to use cash, it has become much more of a focus in the new Marketplace.
The Qantas Marketplace is now online at Qantas.com.
Earning Qantas Points at Qantas Marketplace
The Qantas Marketplace offers at least 3 Qantas Points per dollar when paying for goods with actual money. This is a bit of a boost from the 2 Qantas Points per dollar available from the Rewards Store.
Bonus Offers
Even better, as an introductory offer, there are bonus deals offering additional points.
When you make purchase items at the Qantas Marketplace, you could get an additional serving of points. The bonus on offer is based on the size of the transaction. Spend $150 in a transaction, and you could pocket 2,000 bonus Qantas Points. If you spend $300 in that transaction, you could get 5,000 bonus Qantas Points. Finally, on a $500 transaction, you could walk away with 10,000 bonus points.
Note that these are paid on a transaction value, and not your total spend through to 7 April 2023. Having said that, you can take advantage of the bonus multiple times during the promotion.
Members of Points Club and Points Club Plus have another bonus points offer, this time running through to the end of June. Points Club members will earn double points on their earn (i.e. 6 points per dollar), while Points Club Plus members will rake in triple points (9 points per dollar).
Using Points at the Qantas Marketplace
You can also use points to purchase merchandise from the store. Having said that, there are usually better uses for your points, however, the option remains there if you need to use it.
Many of the products can be bought using points. If you are a member of Points Club, you are offered a 5% discount on the number of points required. Points Club Plus members are offered a 10% discount.
Thoughts
The Qantas Marketplace is a revamp of the previous Rewards Store, offering a larger store, and the chance to earn more points. The initial bonus offers could see some shoppers earning a sizeable chunk of points.
However, remember, this is a separate proposition to Qantas Shopping. With Qantas Shopping, you can earn points by clicking through to online retailers. This remains in place, allowing you to buy from your favourite retailers. Of course, with this relaunch, the Qantas Marketplace could become your favorite retailer.
