Qantas Points can now be used for all China Airlines flights

    MarkBy MarkMarch 16, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

Qantas has rolled out an expanded partnership with China Airlines. Under the new partnership, Frequent Flyers can now book reward flights on China Airlines network onward from Taipei.

Until now, Qantas Frequent Flyers could book services between Australia and Taipei. The new announcement extends the ability to use points across the entire China Airlines network.

As a result, customers can book Classic Flight Reward seats on China Airlines across 23 countries. From the Australian cities of Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, it provides flight options across Asia, North America and Europe.

In many cases, it simply adds an additional way to get to many destinations across Europe and Asia. In addition,  it adds a range of destinations that can now be reached using Qantas Points.

Qantas provides a few examples of what is possible through China Airlines.

    • Sydney to Da Nang in Economy using 37,800 points*,
    • Melbourne to Amsterdam in Business using 159,000 points* or
    • Sydney to Taipei in Business using 75,000* points

*Note that the members will also need to pay taxes, fees, and carrier charges on top of the points listed above

The flights are now available to book online. Options to book through the contact centre will be available shortly.

    Thoughts

This brings a welcome addition to the options available to Qantas Frequent Flyers.
