Qantas to resume Sydney-Beijing Services

Qantas has announced that it will resume Sydney-Beijing nonstop flights from late January 2017. The new service marks a return to the Chinese capital, following the withdrawal from the route in 2009. Beijing becomes Qantas’ third destination in Greater China, including its existing daily return services to Shanghai and 28 return services a week to Hong Kong.

Schedule

The new service will commence on January 25, 2017. Qantas plan to operate the new daily flight with its Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The following table shows the planned schedule for the service.

Expanded Codeshare

In addition to the new service, Qantas announced and expansion of the joint venture partnership with China Eastern. This will see three international codeshare routes between Australia and China being added: Sydney-Hangzhou, Sydney-Kunming and Brisbane-Shanghai. In return, China Eastern will codeshare on Qantas’ new Beijing service.
