I recently took the morning flight from Perth to Dubai, and got to try out the Emirates Lounge, Perth. As the flight leaves Perth at 6am, the lounge was set up for a breakfast service. As such, this review of the lounge will reflect the breakfast service.
Location
As the current Perth International Airport terminal is fairly small, the lounge is quite easy to find. Once you have passed through immigration, security and duty-free(!), you turn left. This will bring you toward the end of the terminal and you should see some escalators. Head down those escalators, turn left, and the lounge should in sight.
Lounge access options
I was able to access the Emirates Lounge by dint of my Qantas Frequent Flyer status. The following outlines the way you may be able to access the lounge.
- Class of travel:
- Business and First Class passengers flying on Emirates.
- Skyward frequent flyer status:
- Eligible status members of Emirates Skywards (Gold and higher).
- Qantas frequent flyer status:
- The alliance between Emirates and Qantas allows eligible members of Qantas Frequent Flyer (Gold and higher) to enjoy the lounge when flying on Emirates from Perth to Dubai.
Seating Areas
There were a range of seating areas around the lounge. While the lounge appears to be a large square, partitioning was in place to help break up the big-box feeling.

The dining area was located on the far side of the lounge, near the food buffets. This area was set out like most dining areas, with tables for two or four.

Food and Beverage
Food
As mentioned, I was there prior to a 6 am flight. As such, the food offering revolved around breakfast dishes. This includes a range of hot options. While the serving dishes look small, they were kept full by attentive staff.

In addition to the hot items, there were a range of cold items.

Beverage
Being an international lounge, there were alcoholic beverages available – even at 4 in the morning.
There were a range of wines and spirits available, although you did have to mix your own cocktails.. There was one bar within the the food area, and another setup in the sitting area. While I didn’t check every drink individually, I’d say they were both set up with the same selection.

On most of my lounge visits, I find that while sparkling wine is usually on offer, actual champagne is a bit more hit and miss. As a result, I was a bit surprised to see not one, but two, champagnes on offer. On offer were the Moët & Chandon Brut Imperial NV and Veuve Cliquot Brut. I have no issues with either of these two non-vintage Champagnes.

Tea and coffee are a self-service affair. I guess it was a touch disappointing not to have a barista made coffee prior to a 6 am flight. But I guess this is just a bit of nit-picking. Even so, as far as machine made coffees goes it was a reasonable coffee.

Other Amenities
Business Centre
If you need to get a bit of work done, there’s a small business centre not too far from the lounge entrance. Here you’ll find a few PCs setup. The lounge also has wifi throughout.

Bathrooms
There were male and female bathrooms, and these (at least the male) were in a very clean state. Cloth towels were provided, which was a nice touch.

Voya products were provided, which seems to be Emirates product of choice.

If you felt in need of a shower, there were two shower stalls provided.
Final Words
The Emirates Lounge in Perth is designed to cater to both Business and First Class passengers. As such, it is a bit of a cut above a normal business lounge.
If that sounds like I enjoyed my visit there, that’s because I did. There is a good range of food and beverage on offer and the staff are friendly and attentive.
