If you’re a Chelsea fan living in Vietnam, 2026 is already looking like your year. The Ascott Limited, Chelsea FC’s Official Hotels Partner, is taking its global fan engagement tour to Hanoi this April. And they’re not going quietly. There’s meet‑and‑greets, exclusive events, legendary players, and a ballroom transformed into a mini Stamford Bridge.

The Famous CFC Tour Lands in Hanoi

On 17 and 18 April 2026, Hanoi becomes the next stop of The Famous CFC, Chelsea’s international fan experience programme. Past editions have popped up everywhere from Singapore to Jakarta, and now it’s Vietnam’s turn to get the full Blue treatment.

Three Ascott properties—Ascott Tay Ho Hanoi, Oakwood Residence Hanoi, and Somerset West Point Hanoi—will host the two‑day celebration. But the crown jewel is A Night with the Blues, an exclusive fan event at the Ho Tay Grand Ballroom in Ascott Tay Ho Hanoi. It’s all timed to build hype for the Chelsea vs. Manchester United match happening later that night in the UK.

A Legend Arrives: Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

Here’s the part that will make long‑time Chelsea supporters smile: Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

The iconic striker, known for thunderbolt goals, fierce energy, and being an all‑around fan favourite, is making his first official club visit to Vietnam. If you followed Chelsea in the early 2000s, you’ll know who he is. Across four seasons, he racked up 87 goals in 177 appearances, snagged the Premier League Golden Boot in 2000/01, and even scored on his debut against Manchester United.

Fans in Hanoi will get the rare chance to meet him up close during special activities and the evening event.

A Legendary Venue for a Legendary Player

Ascott is using the theme “A Legend at a Legendary Venue”. The Ho Tay Grand Ballroom, Hanoi’s largest pillarless ballroom, is being transformed into a Stamford Bridge–inspired arena. Imagine the scale of a Premier League stadium atmosphere, but indoors, with air‑conditioning and great lighting.

This will also be one of the first major events held at Ascott Tay Ho Hanoi, which is gearing up to launch with a massive 1,165 rooms and a full suite of event spaces. Fans and media will basically be getting a sneak peek before the rest of the world.

The CFC in South East Asia

Ascott’s Chief Commercial Officer, Tan Bee Leng, sums it up:

From Singapore and Bangkok in the first season, to Jakarta and now Hanoi in the second season, our Famous CFC tour follows a purposeful arc across Southeast Asia – Ascott’s home region and an energetic hub for Chelsea fandom. This edition is particularly special. Fans will not only get the rare opportunity to meet Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, but will also be among the first to step inside Ascott Tay Ho Hanoi, a large scale project that brings together premium accommodation and a purpose-built event destination. It is the perfect venue to showcase Ascott’s all-rounded hospitality expertise in one integrated setting.

We want our Ascott Star Rewards members and club supporters to feel the same excitement they would in London, right in this region where they live, work and travel. Every Famous CFC event presented by Ascott celebrates both the passion of the Blues and our commitment to shaping memorable travel and guest experiences through authentic, heartfelt hospitality.

Ascott Star Rewards (ASR) members are being offered specially curated fan‑experience packages. These packages mix travel, football, and exclusive access in a way that feels tailor‑made for superfans. You can redeem ASR points for stays across Vietnam and unlock experiences that money can’t usually buy. Think of it as your backstage pass to all things Chelsea.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

    • A meet‑and‑greet with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink — yes, a photo op with the legend himself
    • Tickets to A Night with the Blues — the signature evening event at Ascott Tay Ho Hanoi, featuring Hasselbaink
    • Limited‑edition Chelsea FC x Ascott merchandise — the kind of co‑branded gear that instantly becomes a collector’s item

The first 10 people to purchase a package will receive a Chelsea FC Men’s Team–signed item.

    Final Words

For members, this isn’t just about points or perks, it’s about being part of something special. It’s part of the idea that the Ascott Star Rewards programme aims to make you feel valued in ways that go beyond the usual discounts or upgrades. The programme becomes a gateway to unique, memorable experiences.

The opportunity to meet Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in Vietnam, coupled with premium fan engagements and redeemable stays, underscores a commitment to delivering on that. The programme doesn’t just recognise members, it aims to elevate them into exclusive communities where travel, lifestyle, and fandom intersect.
