Velocity extends pause on points expiration

    MarkBy MarkJuly 5, 2022No Comments2 Mins Read

Velocity has extended their pause on points expiration until 30 June 2023. As a result, any members will not see any points expire until that time.

As with many programs, Velocity expires points in what it deems to be inactive accounts. Under the current terms and conditions of the program, that means any member that has not earned or redeemed points within a 24-month period.

As they write in their update:

Due to the impacts of Covid, Velocity has made the decision to continue to protect our members’ Points balances. Members who have found it difficult to earn or spend any Points over the last 24 months will find that their Points will not expire before 30 June 2023. Staying active in our program will ensure your Points don’t expire, as from 1 July 2023 we will be looking at your previous 24 months activity to determine if your Points expire.

This is good news for members that have not been able to earn or redeem in the last 24 months. Having said that, if it affects you, you should look at earning or redeeming in the next 12 months.

Come 30 June 2023, you will need some activity on your account to retain your points. This could, of course, be earned by taking a flight.

There are, however, a number of other that you can earn or redeem points.
