Vietnam is now one of Southeast Asia’s fastest‑growing travel markets. International arrivals reached 21.2 million in 2025. They rose another 15% to 12.3 million in the first half of 2026. Domestic travel also grew strongly, with 135.5 million trips in 2025 and 81 million more in early 2026. The market is expanding quickly and shows no signs of slowing.
Ascott is growing alongside this momentum. In the first half of 2026, it signed nine new properties with over 3,200 units. This is its fastest signing pace in Vietnam. Four projects deepen its partnership with Sun Group. Five bring new owners into the Ascott network. With these signings, Ascott’s footprint expands by more than 30%, reaching 12,000 units across 42 properties in 14 cities.
Ascott’s Growing Presence Across Vietnam
Ascott now manages 16 operating properties in seven major cities. Its latest opening, Lasong Hotel and Villas Sam Son by The Unlimited Collection, adds a wellness‑focused coastal retreat to northern Vietnam. The resort tower opened in April.
Looking ahead, Ascott Tay Ho Hanoi is set to redefine the capital’s hospitality landscape from 2027. The project will introduce 1,165 guestrooms and 10 dining concepts in phases. It positions Ascott at the front of Hanoi’s next wave of large, lifestyle‑driven developments.

The Signings
Strengthening the Ascott–Sun Group Partnership
Ascott’s expanding relationship with Sun Group marks a significant developmen in Vietnam’s fast‑growing hospitality landscape. If you’ve travelled through the country, you’ve almost certainly encountered Sun Group’s imprint. They have created a number of landmark attractions and large‑scale tourism developments that shape how travellers experience Vietnam.
The partnership began with Ascott Tay Ho Hanoi, expanded through Oakwood Ha Long, and now enters a new phase with four additional signings. Three of these are in Phu Quoc, while the other is in Ho Chi Minh City.
Phu Quoc
Phu Quoc’s Hillside Development will bring three Ascott brands into one integrated project in Sunset Town. The site sits within the Ong Quan Mountain precinct and is close to Bai Kem Beach, Sun World Hon Thom, Phu Quoc International Airport, and the Harbour District.
Opening in 2028, the development will feature:

Ho Chi Minh City – the Crest Collection
The Crest Collection will debut in Ho Chi Minh City in 2028 with a 146‑key property. Known for bespoke, story‑driven hospitality, The Crest Collection focuses on immersing guests in the character and narrative of each destination.
Located in the city’s premier luxury district, the property sits close to major landmarks including Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Saigon Opera House, and Ben Thanh Market. It is also close to Grade A offices, upscale dining, luxury hotels, and premium retail. Strong connectivity via major arterial roads and Metro Line 1 further enhances its appeal.
New partners
New ownership partners are accelerating Ascott’s growth across Vietnam. DOJI Group will launch Diamond Crown Westlake by The Crest Collection in Hanoi’s Tay Ho district. The property delivers one‑ to four‑bedroom residences, suites, and duplexes on the prestigious Quang An Peninsula with direct West Lake frontage.
In Hai Phong, Intertruck Co., Ltd will open Citadines Riverside Hai Phong in Thuy Nguyen, placing the brand at the centre of the city’s rising administrative and industrial hub.
