Virgin Money are offering up to 70,000 Velocity Points when you take out a new Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card.
Under the offer, you will receive 20,000 bonus Points for every month you spend $1,500 or more on eligible transactions^ for the first 3 months from card approval. The final 10,000 points is paid out after your first anniversary of holding the card.

The Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card excludes some ‘government-related transactions’ from earning points. This includes ‘transactions with government or semi-government entities or relating to services provided by or in connection with government’.
Examples of excluded transactions include those made at Australia Post, payments to the Australian Taxation Office, council rates, motor registries, tolls, parking stations and meters, fares on public transport, fines and court-related costs.

The Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card includes a $129 Virgin Australia Gift Voucher* each year that you hold the card. This voucher can be used across the entire Virgin Australia network. By itself, this voucher offsets the annual fee of the card.
The key details you need to know about the voucher are:
- You are eligible for a voucher each year,
- Your account must have been open for at least 30 days since approval (or for 30 days after each approval anniversary)
- In order to access the benefit, you will need to make a retail purchase in the 2 months prior to requesting the voucher
- You can request the voucher online here.
- Once you have requested the voucher, it will be delivered by email, and is valid for 6 months from issue
- When you have the voucher, you will be able to use the credit on any booking made through the Virgin Australia website or over the phone. This includes all cabins and fares on sale at the time of booking

While the earn rate on the card is 0.66 Velocity Points per dollar, the $129 Gift Voucher effectively offsets the annual fee. So, if you are looking to earn Velocity Points, you don’t need to spend big and can still enjoy the travel rewards that come with the Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card.
