    Visiting Canberra with Accor

    MarkBy MarkSeptember 22, 2022No Comments2 Mins Read

Canberra, Australia’s capital city, is located midway between Sydney and Melbourne. Unlike other Australian capitals, it is situated inland, which makes for a different experience.

For the visitor it has much to offer. Of course, there are the parliamentary buildings, however, Canberra also offers art galleries, museums, parklands and more.

As a visitor, there are a wide range of activities available. For example, you can go hot air ballooning, go on a walking tour, or checkout the architecture of the city. In addition, Canberra hosts a number of events and exhibitions.

Between 17 September and 16 October, Canberra is hosting Floriade – Australia’s largest Celebration of Spring. Held in Commonwealth Park, it features a display of over 1 million blooms.

Alternatively, there is the Australians & Hollywood Exhibition by the National Film and Sound Archive. This exhibition runs through to the end of 2023, and features cinema moments, rare behind-the-scenes footage, and props from the NFSA collection.

Whatever your reasons for being in Canberra, Accor offers a range of accommodation options.

    Novotel Canberra

Novotel Canberra is a centrally located 4.5 star hotel, offering convenient access to all Canberra has to offer. As it is located within walking distance of Canberra’s public transport hub, it makes travelling easy.

The Novotel often offers special rates for events underway in Canberra. For example, right now, they are offering a Floriade package. This package includes accommodation, welcome cocktails, and a premium picnic hamper for two.

    Mercure Canberra

If you’re looking for something with a bit of Old World Charm, the Mercure Canberra fits the bill. Just a short stroll from the city centre, it is conveniently located near various attractions.

In addition to 129 rooms, the hotel features a bistro, sports bar, meeting rooms and private parking,

    Mercure Canberra Belconnen

Alternatively, you might like to stay a little out of the city centre. The Mercure Canberra Belconnen is located in Belconnen, 8 km from the centre of Canberra. Its location makes it conveniently close to the University of Canberra, Australian Institute of Sport and GIO Stadium.

On top of its 125 rooms, the hotel features a modern gym, guest laundry, lobby lounge and onsite parking.

    Ibis Budget Canberra

If you are visiting Canberra on a budget, The Ibis Budget Canberra offers an economy accommodation option. It is situated on the main highway into Canberra, and is just minutes away from the Australian War Memorial.
