The Velocity Frequent Flyer program has temporarily suspended redemptions in the program. As a result, members will not be able to use their points – for anything. This follows the news that Virgin Australia has gone into voluntary administration. Previously, Velocity had restricted the ability to transfer points to Krisflyer. American Airlines have rolled out their policies on adjustments to the program as a result of the current Coronavirus situation. As a result of continued government restrictions, Virgin Australia has cut its domestic network back to just one route. A single service between Melbourne and Sydney will operate six days a week. That is, there will be a daily service, with Saturday missing out. These changes reflect the growing border restrictions between states, which has caused a sharp decline in passenger numbers.
