Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy’s 5th anniversary is this month and is celebrating by offering Marriott Bonvoy Elite members the chance to earn 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points.
As you might expect, earning 50,000 points means you do have to spend a bit. In fact, you will need to spend at least $2,500US in order to get the points.
Initially, this promotion was only available to elite members of Marriott Bonvoy, however this restriction has now been relaxed. It is now open to all Marriott Bonvoy members.

Thoughts
While the bonus here sounds good, the $2,500 minimum spend requirement is quite a hurdle. It certainly means that you shouldn’t go off speculatively booking properties. And obviously, a cheap stay is not going to cut it.
Having said that, if you do need such a booking, the 50,000 bonus points could be a nice little boost to your points. Mathematically, you could earn as many as 20 Marriott Bonvoy points for each $US20 you spend, on top of the base earning.
