KrisFlyer Partners up with Garuda Indonesia

    MarkBy MarkFebruary 18, 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

KrisFlyer has just launched a new, somewhat limited, partnership with Garuda Indonesia. I say limited, as earning and redeeming is restricted to a handful of flights between Singapore and Indonesia.

Following this announcement, Krisflyer members are able to earn KrisFlyer miles on Garuda Indonesia-operated flights between Singapore and Jakarta, Surabaya and Denpasar. In addition, KrisFlyer members will be able to use their KrisFlyer miles to redeem on the same flights.

There are also some limited options for GarudaMiles members to earn and redeem Singapore Airlines flights.

    KrisFlyer

    Earning KrisFlyer Miles on Gardua

KrisFlyer has published the following earnings chart. Note that this earning is only applicable for Garuda operated flights between Singapore and Jakarta, Bali or Surabaya.

    CABIN CLASSACCRUAL ELIGIBILITY AND LEVEL
    BUSINESS CLASS125% – C, D, I, J
    ECONOMY CLASS100% – Y
    ‌ ‌80% – B, K, M, N, W
    ‌ ‌30% – H, Q, S, T, V
    ‌ ‌10% – L

    Redeeming Award Flights on Garuda

In addition to earning KrisFlyer miles, members will be able to use their miles to redeem for flights in Garuda Indonesia. Once again, these redemptions are limited to the specific flights between Singapore and Jakarta, Bali or Surabaya.

    The limited number of routes available does make the redemption chart look somewhat bare;

Basically, a one-way award will cost:

    • Economy: 13,500 Miles + taxes and charges
    • Business: 24,000 Miles + taxes and charges

It is also worth noting that this is a partner award. As such, there is limited (or no) opportunity to book it together with other Star Alliance partners.

These award rates are not particularly great when compared to redeeming on Singapore Airlines own flights. For Singapore Airlines, you can get an Economy Saver seat for 8,500 Miles and a Business Saver seat for 21,000 Miles. That does, of course, assume the Saver seats are available. If there are only Advantage seats available, the equation changes.

    GarudaMiles

GarudaMiles members also get some (limited) opportunities to earn and burn on Singapore Airlines flights. In this case, the applicable codeshare routes are:

    NoRoute
    1Singapore – Jakarta vv
    2Singapore – Denpasar vv
    3Singapore – Surabaya vv
    4Singapore – London vv
    5Singapore – Medan vv
    6Singapore – Mumbai vv
