Melbourne Airport Adds a New Free Pick-Up Zone

    MarkBy MarkApril 10, 2018No Comments1 Min Read

Melbourne Airport has introduced a new 10 minute Free Pick-Up zone. The new zone is in addition to the one minute pickup zone opposite the Park Royal Hotel.

    Location

The new pick-up zone is found at the northern end of the car park opposite the Qantas terminal. The following map indicates the location of the zone.

    Rates

The new zone is ticketed and controlled by gates that time your entry and exit. While you can stay longer than ten minutes, you will start generating charges once you exceed the first ten minutes.

Stay while the first 10 minutes are free, the next five minutes will cost $8m and then $12 of you stay 15 – 30 minutes. The rates for the 10 minute Free Pick-Up zone are shown below

Once the 10 minute free limit has been exceeded, the rates quickly exceed the amount you would pay in the normal car park. This makes sense, as it is designed as a pick up area, and not as a daily car park.
