Since 2021, Qantas Frequent Flyers and members of ALL – Accor Live Limitless have been able to double dip on their points earning in the two programs. Since then, there have been a few tweaks here and there, generally for the better.
Unfortunately, these improvements seem to have come to an end. Sometime recently, members that with linked Qantas Frequent Flyer and ALL accounts began earning less ALL points when flying on Qantas. In fact, half as many points.
Reduction to ALL points earned for Qantas flights
Part of the original partnership included the ability for Qantas Platinum and Platinum One frequent flyers to double-dip by earning ALL points when flying with Qantas. This is in addition to any Qantas points earned for the same flights.
This rate is now set at 1 ALL point for every $4 of spend on Qantas flights. This is a reduction of 50% in the number of ALL points you earn flying. That is the earning has come down 50% from 1 ALL point for every $2 of spend.
It’s not clear when this change was made, but it is the rate quoted on both the Accor and Qantas websites.
Previous Changes
Until recently, eligible members were able te receive 1 ALL point for every $2 they spent on eligible Qantas Flights. This rate had been in place since June 2023. At that time the rate changed from 1 ALL point for every $5 to 1 ALL point for every $2. At that time, the ability to earn ALL points while flying was extended to Qantas Gold Frequent Flyers.
The current change pretty much reverses out the gains made at that time. Almost, but not quite. We’re still a little better than when it started.
Any other changes?
I had a look to see if I could spot any other changes. All the other benefits still look to be in place. In particular, the rather generous points earned from ALL stays remains. For example, the recently increased conversion of 2,000 ALL points to 2,500 Qantas Points is still in place.
