Velocity has announced that its partnerships with the Pan Pacific and Langham hotel chains will be ending on 30 November 2023.
As a result, from December you will no longer be able to earn Velocity Points while staying at either chain. If you have been earning Velocity Points from these hotels, you will need to look at the alternatives available to you. In the sections below, we will look at the options that may be available from December.
Pan Pacific
In the case of Pan Pacific, it may be worth considering using the GHA Discovery program. The GHA Discovery program covers both the ability to earn rewards and gain status benefits in the program. Under the rewards side of the program you are able to earn Discovery Dollars, which are the programs ‘currency’. These Discovery Dollars can then be redeemed for services (such as stays) at GHA Discovery hotels.
Alternatively, there are other frequent flyer programs you could use. At the moment, when you stay at a Pan Pacific hotel, you can earn points in the following programs:

Langham Hotels
Langham Hotels runs its own in-house loyalty program under the name of 1865. As a member of 1865, you are able to select a preferred airline partner to earn points with. If you have been earning points in Velocity, you may need to select another program.

Final Words
Unfortunately, Velocity members will no longer be able to earn points while staying at Pan Pacific or Langham Hotels. If this affects you, there are at least a few alternative programs that you could switch to.
