Velocity Double Points promotion

Velocity is continuing its run of promotions with a new double points promotion.  The promotion is valid for bookings made between now and 29 September 2020, although you will need to register first.

You can travel anywhere on the Virgin Australia domestic network by 17 August next year.

Promotion Details

  • Offer; Double Points on all eligible Virgin Australia domestic flights
  • Booking Period: Book by 29 September 2020
  • Travel Period: Travel by 17 August 2021
  • Registration: You will need to register for the promotion prior to making your booking

Things to note

As with all promotions, there is a bit of fine print to take note of.

Velocity look to have rolled out a fairly normal set of terms and conditions. Some of the limitations of the promotion probably don’t matter so much at the moment.

For example, you will need to fly on a Virgin Australia operated service. This means that you will not earn bonus points on a codeshare service. Another exclusion is when taking a domestic flight as part of an international journey.

As far as points earning goes, the double points only applies to the base earning that you would normally earn. For example, any bonus from holding frequent flyer status is not doubled.

As the promotion is restricted to domestic services, the double points means that you will be earning an extra 5 points per dollar on your ticket price. That is, you will earn a total of 10 points per dollar.

All that said, these promotions cost nothing extra, so if you can book next year’s flights in the next week, it is worthwhile signing up for the extra points.
