Velocity has launched a new promotion offering double Velocity Points, and this time it comes with a twist. It’s targetted at kids.
Under the promotion, Velocity members under 18 years old earn double points on eligible Virgin Australia flights. In order to get the double points, they will need to activate the offer and book by 17 May 2023. They can then travel anytime through to 2 April 2024.
Of course, in order to do this, the child will need to have their own Velocity account. This can be set up by a parent or guardian, who can also ensure that the child has activated the promotion.
Promotion Details
- Offer; Double Points for kids on all eligible Virgin Australia domestic flights
- Booking Period: Book by 17 May 2023
- Travel Period: Travel by 2 April 2024.
- Registration: The child will need to register for the promotion prior to making the bookings
Things to note
Aside from being only valid for children under 18, there is a bit of fine print to take note of.
Firstly, you need to activate the offer, so make sure you do that. For the purposed of the promotion, it is the age of the traveller on the date of travel that is important. To get the double points, they need to be under 18 on the day that they travel.
Secondly, you need to book an eligible flight. This can be any domestic, trans-Tasman or international short-haul, flight marketed and operated by Virgin Australia. This means that you will not earn bonus points on a codeshare service.
As far as points earning goes, the double points apply to the base earning that you would normally earn. That is, it doubles the 5 points per dollar that make up the base earn. Any other bonus, such as a status bonus, is not doubled.
All that said, these promotions cost nothing extra, so if you can book next year’s flights in the next week, it is worthwhile signing up for the extra points.
