Velocity launches new partnership with Myer

    MarkBy MarkSeptember 14, 2022No Comments3 Mins Read

Velocity has announced a new strategic partnership with Myer. Under the new partnership, Velocity members can use their points to pay for purchases at Myer Online.

Using Velocity Points at Myer Online

Under the first stage of the partnership, you will be able to use your points online at the Myer Online website. When you get to the payment page, you will find a new option to use Velocity Points.

Selecting the option for Velocity results in a prompt to Log in to Velocity. This will take you through the standard Velocity Log In Process.

Myer Pay OptionsOnce you have logged in, you will be presented with options asking you how many Velocity Points you wish to use.

Using the slider, you can select the number of Velocity Points you wish to use. You need to use at least 3,000 Velocity Points. On the other end, you can pay for the whole purchase with points.

    How Many Points?

Based on some examples, it appears that Myer is offering you 0.515 cents per point. While this does not appear compelling, it is in line with other retail options available.

Velocity has given some examples of how many points will be needed if paying in full using points. These are shown in the following table.

    Cost in Velocity Points Redemption

    Earning Points

At the present time, Velocity has only announced a way to redeem points. There have been no changes to any points earning opportunities. In the case of Myer, there is a way of earning points through the Velocity e-store. You can also earn additional points by using a points-earning credit card. Of course, in this case, you would forego spending Velocity Points.

In addition, the current Myer One program is continuing unchanged. You will still earn Myer One points on purchases as normal. This is even the case if you use Velocity Points for the purchase, you will still earn the full Myer One points haul.

    Thoughts

The ability to spend your points at Myer is another option, although many won’t see the appeal. Having said that, this is just the start of the partnership, so who knows what will be next.
