Velocity and KrisFlyer have brought back the ability to convert points back and forward between the two programs. The popular feature was brought back on Thursday, more than two years after it was put on hold. Velocity had initially floated that the transfer option would return on Tuesday. Velocity has extended their pause on points expiration until 30 June 2023. As a result, any members will not see any points expire until that time. As with many programs, Velocity expires points in what it deems to be inactive accounts. Under the current terms and conditions of the program, that means any member that has not earned or redeemed points within a 24-month period. Qantas has announced that it will commence non-stop flights between Perth and Johannesburg in South Africa. The new flights will operate three times a week, commencing in November 2022. Under the announced schedule, it will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. QF65 will depart Perth at 3 pm, arriving in Johannesburg at 8.15 pm. The return journey sets off from Johannesburg at 10 pm, arriving back in Perth at 1.55 pm the following day. The schedule makes for some lengthy flights. The change will see some discount Business fares being recategorised from Business to Flexible Economy for the purposes of calculating Qantas Points and Status Credits.
